Responsibilities
* Food preparation for morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and late afternoon snack
* Safe food handling for allergic/anaphylactic children
* Meal plating and service and taking to classrooms
* Kitchen cleaning and dishwashing
* Cleaning of office, staffroom, foyer and other areas if needed
* Cutting of varied meats
* Food safety and hygiene procedures
* Positively promote and market the centre to families and the community
* Be an advocate of the Montessori Method to parents and potential clients
* Respect and support colleagues by developing positive and ethical channels of communication that are based on principles of mutual respect, equity and fairness
* Attend meetings as requested
* Become familiar with Montessori Academy Policies and Procedures
Key Competencies
* Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
* Cert III in commercial cookery or Cert IV in hospitality
* Cert III in Early Childhood Education and Care (or ACECQA equivalent)
* Current Working with Children Check
* First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain one
* Be available for shifts between 8:30 am and 3:00 pm Monday to Friday
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively in a team environment
* Strong understanding of the importance of family communications
* Strong understanding of the National Quality Framework and National Quality Standard
* Commitment to the holistic development of the class
