About the Role
As an AI Business Analyst (APS6 equivalent), you'll bridge the gap between business needs and AI capabilities—translating complex challenges into structured, testable solutions.
You'll work in multidisciplinary agile teams, embedding governance, human oversight, and risk controls across the AI lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Business & Requirements Analysis
* Elicit and document business, functional, data, and AI-specific requirements
* Break down work into epics, features, and user stories with clear acceptance criteria
* Align outcomes with regulatory obligations and data constraints
AI Solution Design & Governance
* Define AI non-functional requirements (fairness, explainability, privacy, robustness)
* Assess when AI vs rules-based solutions are appropriate
* Design human-in-the-loop (HITL) controls and decision frameworks
* Ensure compliance with AI and Data Governance frameworks
Collaboration & Delivery
* Partner with data scientists, engineers, and product owners
* Support agile ceremonies (backlog refinement, sprint planning)
* Facilitate workshops across business and technical stakeholders
AI Evaluation & Testing
* Co-design evaluation frameworks and performance metrics
* Develop test cases (A/B testing, shadow testing, red teaming)
* Monitor model performance (drift, bias, fairness)
Documentation & Compliance
* Capture model assumptions, prompts, and guardrails
* Support Privacy Impact Assessments and risk analyses
* Maintain audit-ready AI artefacts and documentation
Change Management & Enablement
* Support rollout of AI tools (e.g., Copilot use cases)
* Develop training and communication materials
* Drive adoption through structured engagement
Continuous Improvement
* Contribute to Communities of Practice
* Enhance AI governance and delivery frameworks
Required Skills & Experience
* 3+ years as a Business Analyst/System Analyst in agile environments
* Experience delivering AI-enabled products end-to-end
* Hands‐on with Microsoft ecosystem (Azure ML, Copilot, NLP/LLMs)
* Strong skills in writing testable user stories & evaluation metrics
* Deep understanding of Responsible AI (privacy, bias, explainability)
* Proven stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation
* Tools: Azure DevOps, Miro (or equivalent)
* Excellent communication and analytical skills
Desirable
* Government or regulatory experience
* Exposure to AI governance or policy frameworks
* AI monitoring/evaluation framework design
* Knowledge of data governance and audit processes
