Responsibilities
* Lead and co‐ordinate the nursing and multi‐disciplinary care team at the ward or unit level.
* Monitor and manage the business and management functions and processes of the ward or unit.
* Demonstrate leadership capabilities through attitude, skills, behaviour, and attributes.
* Demonstrate broad nursing/midwifery experience and knowledge.
* Understand and accept that patients are the central focus of service delivery.
* Show professional integrity; ethical conduct, accountability, advocacy, and enablement of others.
* Cultivate collaborative relationships and effective teamwork.

Qualifications
* Current nursing/midwifery registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Effective interpersonal skills, excellent written, verbal communication, and ability to negotiate resolutions and manage conflict.
* Proven ability to create and maintain a positive workplace culture and articulate and achieve a vision for nursing services in a critical care environment.
* Demonstrated focus on service excellence through the ability to read and act on issues quickly, decisively and effectively. Apply and share professional expertise to enhance patient/client care. Guide others to analyse problems and apply solutions.
* Tertiary qualifications in nursing and/or health management with a minimum of three years postgraduate experience.
* Ability to ensure human, physical and financial resources of the unit are managed to deliver safe and efficient health care within available resources.
* Ability to lead, coach, mentor, encourage and guide others to reach their full potential and adapt to ongoing change within a multidisciplinary group with broad clinical experience and knowledge.
* Computer literacy and ability to use a variety of NSW Health computer applications (e.g., word processing, Excel and databases).
