The Senior Finance Analyst role is focused on supporting a $1 billion infrastructure program, the Critical Communications Enhancement Program (CCEP) - so asset capitalisation experience within a government context is essential
Role Description:
The role will Manage budgeting, analysis, and financial reporting services by supporting the systems and tools for compliance and the delivery of reliable financial information to the finance function
Responsibilities include:
* Prepare and consolidate internal, external and statutory reports on a timely basis to inform financial status, issues and performance
* Manage the technical aspects of management reporting and analysis of the organisation's financial performance to ensure completeness and accuracy
* Develop and implement systems, tools and processes in collaboration with key stakeholders to deliver meaningful improvements a
* Continuously monitor ongoing reporting to ensure reports are
accurate and timely to support the achievement of business outcomes
* Lead the development and implementation of templates, databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies and solutions
* Produce reports, visualisations and recommendations to answer complex business problems
* Assist with developing and implementing policies, procedures and standards for preparation of input into analytics to continually improve the quality, accuracy, efficiency and timeliness of reporting
* Assist with process improvement initiatives, including the maintenance and development of financial systems, review and clean-up of master data and other cross-agency initiatives
Skills and Experience:
* Tertiary accounting qualifications
* CA or CPA membership
* Asset capitalisation experience (of major assets) within a government context essential
* A blend of detailed financial knowledge and proficiency in analysis and understanding of data
* Experience supporting budgeting and forecasting - financial planning and analysis
* Experience using Finance Systems (SAP in particular) in a complex organisation and advanced Excel skills
* Adept reporting skills and experience essential and experience with reporting tools an advantage
* Strong verbal and written communication skills - able to provide commentary and analysis to stakeholders
