About the role
The department provides daily school transportation services for approximately 15,000 regional students, 850 students attending a special education setting and 700 students attending the intensive English language program.
The Safety & Accreditation Manager is responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance and delivering of safety management policies and procedures for the departments transport services. The role will continue to build upon a culture of ‘safety first’ within the department, schools and contracted fleet, while ensuring compliance with relevant national and state legislation, regulations and stakeholders. The Safety & Accreditation Manager also conducts assurance and auditing activities, obtains and maintains accreditation, and overseas risk assessments and procedures for the department’s bus staff.
Qualifications
Essential: Nil
Desirable: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Education or related field or equivalent experience.
Special conditions
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry.
The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

Remuneration
ASO7 $108,109 - 116,864 per annum (1.0 FTE) + superannuation (12%) and leave loading.
