The Pier Hotel Esperance is a relaxed seaside pub and bistro located at Esperance, offering meals, drinks, and a welcoming atmosphere.
This venue features a bar, dining area, and an on-site bottle shop for convenient takeaway liquor.
We are looking to appoint a Retail Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage inventory for beer, wine, spirits, and retail merchandise within the bottle shop
* Develop pricing strategies based on market trends, supplier promotions, and business objectives
* Plan and oversee in-store promotions, tastings, and seasonal campaigns to drive sales
* Provide knowledgeable product recommendations to enhance customer experience and encourage customer loyalty
* Upsell premium products, specials, and value-add deals to maximise revenue
* Oversee financial reporting, daily sales reconciliations, and performance tracking for the bottle shop
* Monitor expenses and revenue to ensure profitability across all product categories
* Hire, train, and supervise retail staff to maintain high standards of service and compliance
* Ensure safe handling, storage, and stock rotation for all liquor and retail items
* Maintain compliance with liquor licensing regulations, responsible service of alcohol (RSA), and workplace health & safety standards.
About You:
* At least 1 year of experience as a Retail Manager
* Strong ability to manage stock levels, track sales, and maintain optimal product availability
* Knowledge of retail budgeting, sales forecasting, and revenue performance metrics
* Experience organising in-store product promotions, tastings, and customer engagement activities
* Ability to build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, reps, and distributors
* Solid understanding of liquor licensing laws, RSA requirements, and WHS / OHS regulations
