Position Overview
We are currently seeking a Senior Mine Planning Engineer / Senior Mining Engineer to join our growing team.
Reporting to the Group Mining Engineer, this position is responsible for delivering short to life-of-mine (LOM) planning for Horizon's operations. Working closely with internal teams, this role will ensure that mine plans are technically robust, economically optimised and aligned with strategic and production objectives.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
· Tertiary qualification in mining engineering or equivalent.
· Post graduate studies would be advantageous but are not essential (e.g. mineral economics, mine planning, MBA).
· Previous experience in underground and/or open pit mining, with experience in different underground mining methods preferred, including operational experience.
· Experience in multiple commodities is ideal, gold experience is preferred.
· Exposure to disciplines of rock mechanics, ventilation and general mine design.
· Strong technical skills and a practical, innovative mindset.
· Ability to forward plan, meet deadlines and prioritise multiple tasks.
· Advanced computer literacy skills and competency with mining software (e.g. Whittle 4X, Datamine, Surpac, MineSched, Deswik.)
· Excellent communication and technical report writing skills.
· Capability to work independently in the field.
· Sound knowledge of WA mining legislation and processes.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
· "Can do" attitude, initiative and problem-solving skills.
· Senior First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain).
· Current "C" Class Driver's Licence.
Travel and Flexibility
The role will require regular travel to sites in the Goldfields region.
