Mechanic

This key role will assist in ongoing support of innovative practices as we continue to strive towards being an industry leader in the maintenance of our fleet. Come on board with Busways as a Mechanic at our Lonsdale Depot.
What We Offer
* Earning Potential: $110,000 - $119,000 including reasonable overtime loading Inclusive of super
* $38.69 - $42.44 per hour, depending on skills and experienceâ¯

Role Responsibilities:
* This role requires a mature and professional approach with excellent communication skills. Your main duties will include:
* Diagnosing, inspecting, reconditioning, repairing, assembling the fleet and ensuring safety, quality and Busways standards are followed at all times.
* Maintaining all company vehicles and assets in accordance with Manufacturer's guidelines
* Ensuring all maintenance work is performed according to company procedures.
* Attend breakdowns and carry out any field related mechanical repairs
* Effectively and efficiently communicate any safety or maintenance issues
* Adhering to all Work, Health & Safety requirements whilst performing work duties
* Maintaining clean workshop practices
* Ensuring staff have adequate training to perform necessary tasks
* Reporting and repairing all accident damage as required
* Performing ad-hoc tasks and other duties as directed
Our workshop staff play a critical role within the business to ensure our ever-evolving fleet of vehicles are continually maintained to the highest standard to keep our staff and passengers safe out on the road.
You can expect to be provided with all necessary training, this will include relevant information about our various makes and models of vehicles to ensure a thorough understanding of standards required to meet contract obligations.

The Successful Applicant Will
* Certificate lll in commercial vehicle mechanical technology or above, but will consider Certificate lll in light vehicle mechanical technology with 4 - 5 years post apprenticeship experience in a similar role with the same level of responsibilities would be highly regarded
* Minimum 3 - 5 years working as a Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic
* Mentoring apprentices to learn their trade and playing a critical role in their growth within the team
* Day to day running of the workshop
* Ensure adherence and understanding to WHS regulations and relevant company policies
* Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
* Have experience working in a team environment on daily maintenance and repair schedules
* Apply a proactive approach with a drive for continuous improvement
* Be physically fit to carry out the necessities of the role
* Be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or have unrestricted working rights in Australia
* Hold a current Unrestricted Australian drivers licence issued by the relevant State
Highly Regarded But Not Necessary
* Medium Rigid (MR) or above Australian drivers licence
* Heavy vehicle diesel mechanic experience (we provide training and development)
