About Monash Medical Centre General Medicine Service
General Medicine provides an acute service for Monash Health across its three acute care campuses. General Medicine is the largest single medical inpatient unit at Monash Health with approximately 21,000 inpatient episodes per year.
The General Medicine unit at Monash Medical Centre is made up of 5 multidisciplinary teams largely across three wards, with full/substantial part time and fractional senior medical staff (SMS). Full and substantial part time SMS contribute to unit performance including operational, Quality and Safety, pre-vocational training/supervision and education, research, and improvement and innovation activities through allocated portfolios and dedicated clinical support time (CST).
About the Role
The position advertised is 0.5 EFT, which will include 18 weeks of ward service (25 hours/week) and CST. It is expected that the CST will be used to contribute to the performance of the unit in one of the above portfolios. The incumbent will be expected to participate in additional unit activities as requested by Head of Unit.
