CMS technical administrators oversee the management and support of web hosting environments. These skilled professionals ensure secure, reliable operation of these platforms.
The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of Linux system administration and have hands-on experience with Apache HTTP Server, NGINX, and other technologies such as Windows Server and IIS.
A key aspect of this role involves providing expert advice to clients on hosting-related matters. This entails addressing various technical enquiries and offering guidance on optimising their hosting environment.
In addition to contributing to the ongoing improvement of hosting services and team practices, system administrators play a pivotal role in managing and provisioning web and application services. They also collaborate with cross-functional teams to devise and implement solutions that enhance the overall efficiency and performance of the hosting environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience in Linux System Administration
* Extensive knowledge and practical experience with Linux-based Apache HTTP Server and NGINX, along with familiarity with Windows Server and IIS
* Deep understanding of web security principles
* Sound programming skills, proficient in at least one language (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Perl, PHP, Python, Java, JavaScript)
Desirable Skills
* Experience with DevOps practice in service delivery for automation and integration, agile methodologies, and source code revision control like Git, SVN
* Containerisation experience (Docker, Kubernetes)
