The Radiation Protection Team is responsible for protecting people and the environment from harmful radiation effects. This position assists in developing strategic responses to all aspects of radiation protection.
The role involves:
* Developing policies, procedures, codes, standards, and guidelines regulating radiation apparatus and radioactive material.
* Implementing compliance activities, including inspections and investigations, to ensure safe use of radiation equipment.
* Providing expert advice on policy issues pertaining to the regulatory system for radiation sources.
* Monitoring state, national, and international policy trends and scientific developments.
* Conducting research projects to enhance radiation safety outcomes.
Key responsibilities include comprehensive knowledge of radiation protection legislation, analytical skills, and ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups.
Desirable criteria include a current driver's license and relevant postgraduate qualifications with at least five years of practical experience as a Health Physicist.
