What you will do as
the Senior Project Officer
The Senior Project Officer Government Relations and Advocacy supports the agency's Commissioners, senior executives and broader agency in their engagement with government, Parliament, policy departments and other key external stakeholders.

Key Duties Include

* Administrative support – Undertaking forward planning and supporting the tracking and planning of key team priorities.
* Communications and engagement activity – Working with internal and external stakeholders to prepare for Board and Committee presentations, briefing of senior executives, Commissioners and government, and assisting tin the production of speeches, submissions and other agency publications.
* Workforce capability – Support our people to grow our capability through process review and development,knowledge management, systems and data, and Commissioner induction.
* Leadership - supervising and supporting junior staff in the team, branch and broader organisation is a key responsibility of this role.
* Events coordination – preparation for key stakeholder meetings or events throughout the year.

About You
In order to succeed in the role, you will have:

* Experience in a relevant field such as (but not limited to) administration, regulation, projects, communications and engagement.
* A demonstrated ability to effectively:

* plan, organise and prioritise a demanding workload

* engage and work collaboratively with other people, including the ability to influence/persuade/inform people
* communicate complex issues simply, clearly and effectively in different mediums, and
* research and analyse issues to assist with developing solutions and making recommendations in line with strategic objectives

* Possessing, or demonstrating the ability to acquire, a sound understanding of the ACCC's role, current issues in Competition and Consumer Law and policy development.

* Experience supervising and supporting junior staff to deliver key objectives.
* Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to influence, negotiate and work collaboratively with team members and internal and external stakeholders. A positive, friendly attitude and demonstrated ability as a strong team player.
* Ability to work across a variety of different workstreams and tasks and manage a variety of requests from different sources, and a flexible attitude towards varying tasks and requests.
