The Role
We are looking for a results-oriented individual who will provide engineering support to operations, identifies and scopes improvement opportunities, project manages small to large CI and CAPEX projects including managing contractors and suppliers to deliver on key automation opportunities. The duties of this role will include:
* Provide engineering support and guidance in Automation systems, and Control Hardware / Software related issues.
* Develop functional specifications for in-house coding or external programming and specifies hardware and software for automation solutions.
* Ensure testing and acceptance of control system hardware and software.
* Provide PLC and PC programming of new control systems as well as improvements to existing control systems, including safety PLC’s, HMI’s and associated hardware.
* Design and project manage control system installation and commissioning, managing technical documentation, electrical drawings, software version control, archiving and backup of critical data.
* Prepare project scope, budget and timeline documentation.
* Provides Engineering support including RCA for engineering and production issues, including equipment uptime (OEE), preventative maintenance and workflow improvements.
* Lead and participate in Process Improvements including safety, quality, delivery and cost initiatives.
* Experience in designing new Plant and Equipment ensuring compliance to Australian Standards including Electrical compliance and Machine Safety and Guarding.
* Work as part of a team of high performing Manufacturing Engineers, and maintenance staff.
To be successful in this position you must be able to demonstrate:
* Experience with automation solutions and PLC programming in an industrial environment,
* Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronics) is preferrable.
* Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
* Proven communication and interpersonal skills.
