Teaching Visual Arts to Secondary Students
Australian Christian College is a protestant non-denominational Christian Education organisation, whose mission is to develop each and every student to be equipped spiritually, academically, socially and physically to flourish into their full potential, and be a positive influence on the world around them.
The College has experienced considerable growth in student numbers and improvement in student learning results in recent years. During this time, work will commence on a new 18 classroom building that will help accommodate the growth in student numbers from 420 to 600 students over the next five years.
About The Role
We are seeking applications from qualified Secondary Visual Arts Teachers who are enthusiastic, have excellent interpersonal skills and a strong commitment to Christian schooling. Successful candidates will join a highly competent and supportive secondary teaching team.
Key Responsibilities
* To display the capacity to improve student learning and wellbeing outcomes.
* To receive feedback on your teaching and implement changes.
* To be supportive of an explicit instruction approach to teaching, based in a knowledge-rich curriculum.
* To effectively plan for, collect and analyse educational data, then devise appropriate strategies and interventions to improve student outcomes.
* To demonstrate excellent teaching as described by the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.
* To have an active Christian faith, suitable tertiary qualifications and NESA accreditation (or be eligible).
* To hold a current Employee Working with Children Check.
