We are seeking motivated Engineering professionals to join our high performing Water Division and assist on our water infrastructure projects based in our Wollongong office. Our projects span the lifecycle of project delivery from feasibility studies through to detailed design packages for construction.
About The Role
Our Water Group is growing, and we have a terrific opportunity for talented Senior Civil Engineers experienced in delivering water infrastructure solutions. We are looking for multiple Senior level Civil Engineers to join our NSW based water team, working from Wollongong.
In this position you will play an integral role amongst a diverse group of highly skilled professionals that ‘design with community in mind' to deliver program and project excellence for our water clients in both metropolitan, regional, and remote contexts.
We have a healthy workload focused on water supply and sewerage schemes with key water authorities in New South Wales. You will join a dynamic and skilled team that works on water infrastructure projects, not only locally, but across the APAC region.
Your Responsibilities
* Plan, program and coordinate specific projects with the Project Manager to deliver the agreed outputs on budget, on time and to quality standards.
* Manage and assist in the civil engineering, design management, and project management from planning, feasibility/concept design, detailed design, and construction support of water and wastewater infrastructure as lead or member of a larger team.
* Perform broad, varied and diverse water and wastewater infrastructure engineering design tasks, including engineering drawings, reports, presentations, and applications to regulatory and funding agencies.
* Engage in the development of conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design through sketches, models, diagrams, and other visual formats, and prepare documentation in various civil phases.
* Prepare portions of engineering project proposals, change orders, and client communication.
* Coordinate technical activities and designs with other disciplines and departments, serving as a liaison between senior engineer and design team.
* Ensure all technical outputs conform to project scope, safety, and quality standards.
* Participate in knowledge sharing initiatives and support capability development in water and wastewater design.
* Support business development activities, including proposal and bid development.
* Complete work in line with Stantec’s core values and quality, safety & environment procedures.
* Minimize and control risk through commitment to quality and safety programs.
* Maintain professional qualification and Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering – Civil or Environmental Engineering or equivalent.
* Chartership/RPEQ or working towards is highly regarded.
* Minimum 4 years of relevant professional experience in water and wastewater treatment plants.
* Strong technical experience in potable water supply, sewerage systems, and recycled water networks.
* Experience with water and wastewater treatment plants for regional and urban water authorities (desirable).
* Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with local authorities, government bodies, and commercial entities.
