This role is part of the Reporting and Insights Crew within the Financial Crimes domain, where we design and deliver cutting-edge technology solutions that serve data and analytical use-cases within the Financial Crimes domain.
We are seeking an outstanding Staff Software Engineer to join our team and help shape the direction of our data and analytics cloud platforms that we are building.
Responsibilities
* Shape the future of our data and analytics platforms focusing on designing, developing, and deploying innovative technology solutions that enable us to build tomorrow's bank today.
* Lead engineers in implementing complex technical solutions in a cloud-based environment; maintain a strong risk mindset by ensuring appropriate cyber security controls and provide technical mentoring to the team.
* Develop hands-on experience in a public cloud environment, ideally AWS.
* Understand Quantexa architecture, core ETL and scoring concepts; develop and optimize data integration workflows for efficient data movement and transformation.
* Implement data quality checks, data validation, and error handling to maintain data integrity and accuracy.
* Familiar with GitHub, Confluence, and JIRA; attend business meetings with stakeholders and translate requirements into technical designs.
* Design and implement solutions to complex problems, including onboarding and migrating to new tooling and removing obsolete systems and code.
* Manage and configure data pipelines, ETL processes, and real-time data streaming to enable data ingestion, transformation, and storage.
* Encourage risk-taking and challenge the status quo while influencing stakeholders and building diverse and inclusive teams.
Skills Required
We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks.
* Design solutions to meet business requirements and build ETL and scoring pipelines
* Implement data solutions leveraging AWS cloud services
* Proficient in Entity resolution and scoring concepts
* Must have one Quantexa certification (Data engineering/Scoring)
* Experience with Quantexa version > 2.5; good to have experience upgrading Quantexa applications
* Data processing framework using EMR and Spark Scala
* Fluent in modern Software Development Lifecycle
* Capable of creating documentation and design artefacts for software developers, cyber security reviews, and other stakeholders
* Mentoring and coaching other engineers
