About the role: The Facility Manager Victoria Police Centre (VPC) (Senior Project Officer VPS5) is responsible for the effective management, operation and performance of one of Victoria Polices most critical facilities. This role ensures the facility operates safely, efficiently and in compliance with legislative, contractual and Victoria Polcie Requirements, supporting frontline policing and corporate operations. Reporting to the Manager Victoria Police Centre and coordinating with the Manager of Facility Services. The Facility Manager provides end to end management of building services, maintenance contracts, compliance obligations and stakeholder engagement across the Victorian Police Centre. Your duties will include: Leadership and management of people in delivering great outcomes Managing the day-to-day operation of the VPC Facility, including maintenance, security activities and facilities relate services Overseeing and administering facilities services, security and maintenance, ensuring delivery aligns with services levels, KPI and budgets. Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, standards and policies, including occupational health and safety, essential safety measures (ESM), fire systems, electrical, mechanical and building compliance. Coordinating planned and reactive activities to minimise disruption. Managing contractor performance, sites access, induction and permits to work. Improving facility maintenance, security and services practice. Responding to incidents. Faults and emergencies, including afterhours coordination where required. Providing accurate reporting on facilities performance, risk expenditure and improvements Bulidng effective working relationships with internal stakeholders, services providers and external agencies. About You: The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience: Managing and leading people. Proven ability to provide direction, support and feedback, that fosters a positive culture. Demonstrate leadership capability that empowers and motivates people to perform beyond their perceived limitations, fostering confidence, accountability and a culture of achievement. Managing stakeholders. Well-developed stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diver's range of internal and external parties. Facility Maintenance and Services Experience in facilities management of large, complex or high security environments. Strong knowledge of building services systems, including HVAC, electrical, fire systems, lifts and essential safety measure. Sound understanding of health and safety obligations and risk management in a facilities environment. Facility Security Experience is desired in managing facility security within a complex or high-risk environment, including access control, contractor management, incident response and coordination with security and operational stakeholders to maintain a safe and secure workplace. Financial and organisation skills Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands in a high-pressure environment. Experience in budget management, reporting and continuous improvements. Relevant tertiary qualification. Tertiary qualification (degree level or higher), preferably in engineering, construction, facility or a related discipline.
