We're looking for a proactive and experienced Tax Manager to take the lead on tax strategy, compliance, governance, and planning across our fast‑growing data centre business in Australia and Asia. In this role, you'll ensure we meet our tax obligations in multiple jurisdictions, build strong relationships with tax and revenue authorities, and play a key part in shaping our growth journey. If you're passionate about driving smart tax solutions and helping a dynamic company expand responsibly and sustainably, we'd love to hear from you.

We accept candidates from Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne.

* Tax Return Management — Oversee the accurate and timely preparation and submission of all tax returns globally, including corporate income tax, GST, payroll tax, and other relevant taxes across multiple jurisdictions.
* Tax Accounting — Manage the tax trial balance and prepare statutory reporting disclosures and calculations in line with AASB 112 Income Taxes or equivalent international standards.
* Tax Asset Compliance — Ensure the Group's tax treatment and useful life of assets comply with requirements set by relevant tax and revenue authorities.
* Tax Policy Development — Design and implement robust tax policies and procedures to support compliance across all areas of operation. Provide training and guidance to employees on appropriate cost allocation methods for expenses such as travel and entertainment.
* Process Improvement & System Optimisation — Drive continuous improvement by identifying, developing, and implementing initiatives to enhance NEXTDC's tax governance, systems, and overall efficiency.
* Global / CEDS Disclosures — Ensure the accurate and timely reporting of Controlled Foreign Company (CFC) and Controlled Entity Disclosure Statements (CEDS), as well as other related global compliance requirements.

About you

* Excellent communicator who can confidently engage and influence stakeholders at all levels, both locally and internationally.
* Commercially savvy, with strong financial literacy and a drive to identify and implement process, system, and policy improvements.
* Meticulous and detail‑oriented, with a commitment to maintaining accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all tax and financial data.
* Tech‑savvy and analytical, with advanced skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel to manage, interpret, and present complex data effectively.

Qualifications

* Degree‑qualified in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, with CA / CPA (or equivalent) credentials; postgraduate tax qualifications will be highly regarded.
* Proven ability to lead and collaborate with stakeholders from diverse, non‑financial backgrounds, translating complex tax matters into clear, actionable insights.
* Extensive experience in corporate tax, ideally gained within a Big 4 firm or a large multinational organisation, with exposure to complex, cross‑border environments.
* Strong commercial and technical expertise, with a deep understanding of tax effect accounting and specialist knowledge across corporate and international tax, tax consolidation, and tax treaties.

Additional Information
