The business has invested significantly in its digital platforms and technology capability and is now at an important transition point. To support the next phase of growth, alignment, and delivery maturity, they are seeking a Head of Technology – Digital eCommerce to provide dedicated leadership across their pure play digital commerce technology function.
Role Overview:
As the Head of Technology – Digital eCommerce, you will be responsible for leading technology direction, engineering outcomes, and delivery discipline across multiple B2C digital brands operating on a shared technology stack.
Reporting into senior digital leadership, this role plays a critical part in aligning technology execution with business priorities, strengthening delivery confidence, and improving how the technology function partners with stakeholders across product, commercial, enterprise architecture, and operations.
This role is focused on building credibility and predictability first, before accelerating execution at scale.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead technology strategy and platform evolution across multiple digital commerce brands
* Provide senior leadership to engineering and delivery teams, setting clear expectations and ways of working
* Develop and communicate a credible, evidence-based technology roadmap aligned to business priorities
* Improve delivery discipline through realistic scoping, sequencing, and commitment-setting
* Partner closely with product, commercial, enterprise architecture, and operations stakeholders
* Drive alignment across B2C digital platforms while respecting differences in customer and fulfilment models
* Enable integration with enterprise systems and shared services within established architectural guardrails
* Increase transparency and trust through structured communication and predictable delivery outcomes
Ideal Candidate Profile:
* Extensive experience in senior technology leadership roles within complex enterprise environments
* Strong background in digital commerce platforms, ideally across multi-brand or multi-channel models
* Proven track record of leading delivery in environments with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities
* An enterprise architecture mindset, with the ability to operate within defined standards and guardrails
* High maturity in communication, stakeholder management, and commercial decision-making
* Pragmatic, outcome-focused approach, comfortable operating in ambiguity and grey areas
This role does not require a hands-on software engineering background and is not suited to consultancy-only profiles. Candidates must have owned outcomes within an enterprise setting and understand the consequences of delivery decisions.
