Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor Experimental Condensed Matter Physics

Overview
This is a full-time continuing academic appointment at Academic Level C (Senior Lecturer) or Level D (Associate Professor) in Experimental Condensed Matter Physics. The role combines research and teaching, contributes to curriculum design and course delivery, builds a research portfolio, and supports the administration and collegial life of the School of Science at UNSW Canberra.
Responsibilities
Design and deliver undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses and programs.
Develop and maintain an active, high-quality research program in experimental condensed matter physics.
Publish high-quality research outputs, prepare grant applications, and supervise students.
Contribute to curriculum development and innovative teaching methods, including educational technologies and online delivery.
Engage with industry and the profession, build partnerships, and pursue funding for learning and teaching initiatives where applicable.
Participate in School administration and contribute to the collegial life of the School of Science at UNSW Canberra.
Who You Are (Skills and Experience)
At Senior Lecturer Level C
A PhD in experimental condensed matter physics or a related discipline.
Expertise in cryogenic techniques and measurements at low temperatures.
Demonstrated track record in experimental condensed matter physics research.
Evidence of ability to support and inspire students.
Experience in teaching and learning design using a range of pedagogical approaches, including course development and delivery at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels.
Experience implementing educational technologies and online delivery methods.
Experience in initiating curriculum development and improvement.
Experience recruiting and supervising high-calibre students.
Ability to interact with the profession and industry and attract funding for learning and teaching initiatives.
Associate Professor Level D
All Level C requirements plus:
Experience with industry or work-integrated learning.
Evidence of development of teaching practice and leadership of inclusive learning and teaching culture.
Strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
Significant track record in research leadership with high-quality, internationally impactful outcomes and ongoing leadership aspirations.
Leadership in building engagement and partnerships with the profession and industry.
