About your opportunity:
The AAMHIU, co-located on The Townsville Hospital campus, is a modern 36 bed facility designed for persons requiring acute assessment, diagnosis and treatment of mental health disorders. The unit has an eight bed Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit and 28 beds Low Dependency Unit (LDU) in the open area of the unit. The multidisciplinary team (MDT) comprises of administrative, nursing, medical, allied health and operational staff.
The purpose of this role is to provide Social Work services, including assessment, planning and treatment, for people involved in the AAMHIU within a multidisciplinary environment, in accordance with professional standards and legislation. It also involves working collaboratively with clients and multidisciplinary professionals to provide recovery focussed clinical care and a therapeutic environment conducive to the dignity and wellbeing of consumers and families within the MHSG.

* Salary range: $79,051 to $116,189 p.a. (HP3)
* 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
* 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
* Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available
Role Requirements:
* Mandatory qualification: The successful applicant must hold at least a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification from an accredited tertiary institution in Social Work, as well as eligibility for full membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
* Possession of class C drivers' licence.
* This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.
* Probation period may apply.
* Pre-employment checks will be conducted, including criminal history clearance.
