About the role We are looking for a detail-oriented and collaborative Mission Engineering Analyst to support business analysis and requirements engineering efforts within the Mission Engineering team. Reporting to the Senior Mission Engineering Manager, this role focuses on capturing stakeholder needs, defining system requirements, and supporting traceability across complex Defence projects. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and interpersonal skills, with a keen interest in systems thinking and mission-focused capability development. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to projects or national significance including defence, critical infrastructure and national resilience, in a new and exciting area of practice, leveraging state-of-the-art engineering practices and technologies. We’re looking for candidates with a combination of the following: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Business Analysis, or a related technical field. Experience in requirements engineering or business analysis roles desirable. Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving abilities. Familiarity with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS, Jama, or similar) is desirable. Good communication and facilitation skills, with an ability to interact with a range of stakeholders. Awareness of the systems engineering lifecycle and requirements best practices. Awareness of MBSE tools or approaches (e.g., SysML, Cameo, Enterprise Architect). Experience working in Defence, aerospace, or similarly complex domains will be highly considered. Basic understanding of Defence capability development frameworks and acquisition processes. Able to obtain a security clearance up to a NV1 level, and desirably an active clearance. What you will be doing Support the elicitation, analysis, and documentation of stakeholder needs and system requirements. Assist in developing requirement specifications and maintaining traceability throughout the project lifecycle. Contribute to the development of mission and system architectures, ensuring alignment with user needs. Facilitate workshops and interviews to support stakeholder engagement and analysis activities. Collaborate with technical and operational staff to translate mission needs into system-level requirements. Assist in the development and maintenance of MBSE artefacts.
