Data Migration Engineer – Large Consultancy
* Contract until EOFY 2026 w/ extensions
* Up to $550 p/d inc super
* VIC based / WFH
Primary Purpose of the Role:
Deliver a large-scale data migration by transforming, validating, and moving data from a legacy MS SQL Server 2016 environment into multiple target systems, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and smooth ingestion across platforms.
Key Accountabilities
* Work closely with the asset team supporting the existing source system
* Design and build staging tables in MS SQL Server to support migration activities
* Develop and maintain stored procedures and ETL logic to transform and export data to target systems
* Perform data reconciliation between source, staging, and target systems
* Manage receipt, ingestion, and validation of response files from target systems
* Identify and resolve data quality issues throughout the migration lifecycle
* Support ongoing process improvements and migration-related data management tasks
* Maintain version control and configuration management using Git
Essential Requirements
* Strong experience in SQL and ETL development within large-scale data migration projects
* Hands-on experience with SSIS
* Solid working knowledge of MS SQL Server and SQL Server Management Studio (2019/2021)
* Experience using Visual Studio 2022 for data development
* Exposure to relational databases including MS SQL Server and Oracle
* Understanding of data modelling concepts and data warehouse design best practices
* Experience with data reconciliation and validation processes
* Familiarity with configuration management and source control using Git
