Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Manager to join our team in the Asia-Pacific region. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the procurement process from Request for Information/Quotation (RFI/Q) to Supply Contract Executions.
The role will involve working closely with Category Managers to execute strategy at a country/regional level, scanning the market, providing accurate estimations, closing agreements, and ensuring on-time, on-budget, and high-quality deliveries.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage local supplier and vendor pre-qualification database, forming strong relationships with key suppliers in the APAC region.
* Provide accurate cost estimations to Business Development Team.
* Coordinate and manage one or more internal project teams/projects.
* Define project procurement strategy with project stakeholders.
* Launch RFIs/RFQs, receive bids & offers, prepare comparisons, clarifications, and analyze offers with different stakeholders.
* Place and process purchasing transactions according to agreed terms.
* Monitor equipment purchases to ensure purchase order information matches shipment and confirm subcontractor compliance.
* Ensure project costs are properly categorized and that a feedback loop mechanism is in place to compare and adjust estimating costs vs. actual project costs.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
* Masters degree in engineering or business preferred.
* Fluent English spoken and written, additional languages an asset (Mandarin, Asian languages).
* CIPS or PMP certification optional but valuable.
Experience:
* Extensive 5-7 years' experience in Solar PV, Wind, and Energy Storage industry.
* Understanding of PV module technologies, efficiencies, and use cases.
* Inverter specifications, trackers, and BOS components.
* Knowledge of warranty, liquidated damages, force majeure, and claims management in supply contracts.
* Procurement experience in similar positions.
* Multi-functional projects international work environment remote locations understanding.
