ABOUT THE ROLE
Position
Council is currently seeking an enthusiastic and capable individual to join our road maintenance team.
Reporting to the Supervisor of Road Maintenance, this hands-on role is part of a small team dedicated to keeping our roadsides safe and well-maintained. The position plays a key part in roadside vegetation management, including operating spray equipment and applying chemicals to ensure clear, safe and well maintained roadsides.
To be successful you will bring
* Behaviour that positively demonstrates Council's values of: creative, accessible, respect, energetic and safe.
* Demonstrated understanding of and/or experience in general maintenance duties associated with roads and roadsides, including roadside vegetation management, concreting and finishing, pipe laying and sign installation.
* Demonstrated communication skills, both oral and written.
* Demonstrated ability to operate various items of minor plant and equipment.
* Demonstrated experience in and ability to perform a range of physical labouring duties.
* Chemical Spray Ticket (current), or demonstrated extensive experience in spraying chemicals and willingness to obtain a ticket and apply chemicals.
* Class C driver licence with the ability to operate manual transmission.
* Work Safely in the Construction Industry Induction ticket (white card).
* Ability and willingness to work in confined spaces, excavations and at heights.

* A salary range of $57,400 to $65,900 per annum (plus 12% superannuation) dependent upon skills, experience and qualifications.
