Digital Fuel Productions Pty Ltd
Video Editor

Offer description

Digital Fuel Productions (DFP) is seeking a talented and creative Video Editor to join our growing team in Melbourne.

DFP specialises in high-end automotive content, producing video, photography and interactive media for major automotive OEMs and leading media outlets. Our work spans events, scripted and lifestyle content, editorial pieces, marketing assets, dealer and staff training, sharp social media shorts, and B-roll edit packages.

This is a full-time position with flexibility to suit project requirements. Occasional weekend, overnight and or off-site work will be required, with days in lieu and other considerations provided as part of the role. A genuine interest in cars and automotive culture is very strongly preferred, as this is our core subject matter.

The Role

You will be responsible for editing a wide variety of content, including:

* Event and launch coverage
* Scripted and lifestyle automotive videos
* Editorial and media content
* Marketing and brand assets
* Social media shorts and platform specific cuts
* B-roll edit packages for media, marketing and internal use

Storytelling is central to this role. The ideal candidate will be able to take a wide range of assets and shape them into a clear, engaging and compelling narrative, while meeting the client brief and supporting key engagement and brand objectives.

You will have a strong understanding of brand voice and be able to tailor edits accordingly, ensuring each project feels bespoke and consistently delivers outstanding results across different clients and platforms.

You will regularly work through interviews and vox pops, identifying key moments, soundbites and themes, and crafting them into strong, cohesive edits. For projects requiring voiceover or other structured storytelling elements, you will work closely with our DOP and production team to ensure polished, professional deliverables.

Meeting production deadlines is critical. You will need to be organised, reliable and a clear communicator, able to work collaboratively with the wider team to keep projects moving smoothly from brief through to delivery. DFP values integrity and excellence, and these qualities are essential in how we work with our clients and each other.

Creativity beyond the cut is highly valued. You will be encouraged to be creative with graphics, overlays and visual treatments, and to integrate new tools and techniques into the workflow where appropriate, helping to keep our content fresh and engaging.

Our Workflow and Environment

DFP is a Mac based environment, working on the latest Mac Studio and MacBook Pro systems. We invest in modern, high-performance equipment to ensure our projects are never slowed by outdated or inadequate hardware.

We work with the latest camera equipment from RED, Canon and DJI to ensure the assets we capture are of the highest quality and provide maximum flexibility in post-production. We stay on the cutting edge and expect our team to do the same.

Key Requirements

* Proven experience as a Video Editor
* Strong storytelling and narrative editing ability
* Ability to interpret client briefs and deliver content aligned with brand and engagement objectives
* Confidence working through interviews and vox pops to identify key moments and craft the story
* Strong ability to assemble clean, well-structured B-roll edit packages
* Ability to turn raw footage into a clear, engaging finished piece
* Strong time management skills and ability to meet production deadlines
* Clear and professional communication skills
* Strong social media editing skills, particularly short form content
* Experience with graphics, motion elements and effects is highly regarded
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
* High attention to detail and consistency
* Own vehicle and valid driver's licence
* Willingness to travel occasionally, including interstate, depending on project requirements

What We Offer

* Full-time role with flexibility around project needs
* Office-based role at our Williamstown North studio with on-site parking
* A fast paced, creative environment with room to grow
* Days in lieu and other considerations for weekend and overnight work
* All equipment supplied, including up-to-date Mac-based edit systems
* Opportunity to work on premium automotive projects
* Exposure to major automotive brands and leading media outlets
