The Role – HVAC Service Manager
As the Service Manager, you'll take a hands‑on leadership role in overseeing day‑to‑day service operations across our Adelaide branch. You'll work closely with technicians in the field, supporting complex fault finding, driving service quality, and ensuring contractual and reactive works are delivered safely, efficiently, and profitably.
This role balances technical involvement, people leadership, and commercial accountability, making it ideal for a technically strong leader who enjoys being close to the work.
What You'll Be Doing
* Lead, mentor, and support a team of HVAC technicians, apprentices, and subcontractors
* Provide hands‑on technical support for complex diagnostics, fault finding, and job scoping
* Oversee delivery of planned maintenance, reactive service, breakdowns, and minor works
* Manage daily service operations in collaboration with planners, ensuring efficient resource allocation
* Drive safety, quality, and EH&S compliance across all service activities
* Manage service contracts, WIP, backlog, and financial performance
* Review work orders, labour recovery, parts usage, and invoicing accuracy
* Build strong customer relationships and identify opportunities within existing service accounts
About You
You are a technically capable HVAC leader who thrives in an operational environment and leads by example.
You will bring
* Trade qualification in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning or Mechanical Services
* Strong hands‑on experience servicing and maintaining HVAC systems (commercial/industrial preferred)
* Demonstrated experience leading HVAC service teams or senior technicians stepping into leadership
* Solid understanding of HVAC service contracts, maintenance delivery, and breakdown management
* Ability to support technicians with complex diagnostics and technical decision‑making
* Strong organisational and planning skills in a fast‑paced service environment
* Confident communication skills with technicians, customers, and internal stakeholders
* Experience using service management or ERP systems
* A safety‑first mindset and commitment to quality workmanship
