This Opportunity

Accordwest is a local WA organisation providing essential services and support within the community.

This is a full-time role (76hrs per fortnight) and includes working one weekend every month. The role also includes public holidays, with penalty rates applied.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Support Worker to join our Reintegration team. You will deliver proactive, person centered reintegration support services to clients in Bunbury Regional Prison and the local community. Support Workers are responsible for the daily operations of the family visitors centre at Bunbury Regional Prison, and supporting Case Workers to implement client activity plans. Additionally, we deliver single services to clients on remand, life skills group programs and transitional accommodation supports. Our goal is help improve the lives of our clients and contribute to a reduction in recidivism in our community

Skills and Experiences:

Key Role Responsibilities

In this role some of your key responsibilities will include:

Providing emotional and practical supports to visitors to the Bunbury Regional Prison.

Provide reintegration support to clients within a trauma informed framework

Empower clients to move through the stages of change, address barriers for their reintegration and engage in pro-social activities

Co-facilitate group programs within a prison environment

Apply trauma informed principles in all aspects of your work with clients

Participate as an active team player within a multi-disciplinary team, providing support across the team when required.

Essential requirements

Demonstrated experience in:

Providing non-judgemental and inclusive services to clients from a wide range of backgrounds

Building and maintaining productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders delivering quality support services and maintaining professional boundaries

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team to achieve outcomes

Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, comply with organisational policies and procedures and a strong understanding of maintaining personal and client safety at all times

Excellent interpersonal skills

Well developed written and verbal communication skills

Excellent IT skills with a demonstrated ability to operate client management systems

Self-motivated team player who enjoys working within a challenging, fast-paced community services environment

Desirable Criteria

Qualification in Community Services, Social Work, Psychology or another relevant field of study

Understanding of reintegration and rehabilitation services in Western Australia

A passion for learning and developing professional skills

You must have or have the ability to obtain a:

Working with Children Check

National Police Clearance

Department of Justice Clearance

Form 395 Clearance from Department of Communities

Current valid Western Australian Driver's Licence
