About the role
Aquarium Industries is seeking passionate and talented people to fill the roles of General Hand and Fish Keeper to join our recently expanded fish care team in Epping, Victoria. These full-time positions are responsible for the maintenance and care of aquarium fish and invertebrates. Work a 4.5 day week where your weekend starts before lunch every week*
What you'll be doing
* Performing routine water changes, tank cleaning, and other husbandry tasks to maintain optimal water quality
* Sorting, grading and movement of fish around the facility ensuring customer standards are met
* Feeding and monitoring the health of a diverse range of fish and invertebrate species
* Identifying and treating any signs of disease or distress in fish and invertebrates
* Assisting with the acclimation and quarantining of new livestock
What we're looking for
* Demonstrated experience in the care and maintenance of aquarium fish or a passion to learn these skills
* Strong knowledge of freshwater fish (or marine fish) and invertebrate species, their care requirements, and common health issues
* Excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow strict protocols and procedures
* Passion for aquatic life and a commitment to provide the highest standards of animal welfare
* Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
