Solution DesignerAbout our client:Our client is a leader in professional services and consulting, providing a wide range of services including strategy, consulting, technology and systems integration, and operations to a range of clients across Government, Financial Services, Utilities and more.About the role:An opportunity exists for a Solution Engineer/ Designer to work with one of their Big 4 Banking clients, where you will be the intersection of data engineering, analytics, platforms and project delivery, providing thought leadership and innovation for data solutions.You will be responsible for the overall end to end solution design, from data extraction from source systems, ingestion, transformation, and creation of reusable data assets ready for consumption.Required Skills:Must have big data platform delivery experienceMust have data project delivery experience in a big data and cloud data lake environmentWilling to lead and own end-to-end solution, working with client architects but also be able to support tech delivery teams to troubleshoot issues and provide technical leadership in a complex client environment3+ years' experience in a large and complex financial services organisation preferrable banks7+ years' experience within projects and/or delivery of business and technology solutions, involving designing and engineering of complex data processes3+ years of experience in advanced data transformation3+ years of experience presenting solution design or architecture in large forums and able to justify/defend the solution/design decisions3+ years of experience in data quality analysis and remediation3+ years hands on experience using Unix/Linux serversGood Knowledge on Cloud Platforms and Big Data Analytics using Hadoop and Azure, Python and Apache Spark (PySpark)Strong verbal communication skills to convey information and ideas in a manner that engages the audience and helps them understand and retain messagesStrong written skills to be able to clearly articulate and present findings to senior stakeholders and produce deliverablesAbility to manage own time to meet milestones and deliverablesStrong collaborative work practices in an agile, fast paced team environment.A strong work ethic and a desire to go the extra mileAbility to work in demanding and high pace environmentRoles and Responsibilities:Develop, test and support future-ready data solutions for customers across industry verticalsDevelop, test and support end-to-end batch and near real-time data flows/pipelinesDemonstrate understanding in data architectures, modern data platforms, big data, data lakes, data warehousing, ML/AI, analytics, cloud platforms, data governance and information management and associated technologiesDemonstrate in-depth understanding of data integration, ingestion design, data transformation techniques and consumption patternsDevelop and demonstrate Proof of Concepts and Working DemosLead or collaborate with other internal/external consultants in consulting, workshops and delivery engagementsMentor junior team members in the practice and delivery engagementsPreferred: Understanding of Data Mesh Architecture and its Domain Data ProductsExperience in data analysis and data modelling - Entity Relationship Modelling, Third-Normal Form and Dimensional Data ModellingHands-on experience with Atlassian toolset; JIRA, Confluence and BitBucketWhat's on offer?This contract is available for an initial 6-month term with likely extension on a long term project.
