The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Head of Airworthiness to join the Royal Flying Doctor Service – South Eastern Section (RFDSSE). The Role
As Head of Airworthiness, you will:
* Provide strategic leadership and oversight of continuing airworthiness and maintenance control activities
* Ensure all aircraft consistently meet the highest regulatory, safety and operational standards
* Lead, mentor and develop a highly skilled team of airworthiness and engineering professionals
* Partner with leaders across the organisation to deliver RFDSSE's business strategy
* Drive continuous improvement in systems, processes and risk management
* Act as a visible role model of RFDS values, leadership behaviours and safety culture

About You
You are a confident, detail‐driven leader with strong commercial acumen and a relentless focus on safety, compliance and service excellence. You bring deep technical expertise, the ability to work across organisational boundaries, and a passion for aviation with purpose.
* Currently hold, or previously held, regulatory approval as:
o Head of Aircraft Airworthiness and Maintenance Control (HAAMC), or
o Approved Continuing Airworthiness Manager, or
o Responsible Manager
* Hold or has previously held an aircraft engineer licence (B1 or B2), or qualifications in one of the following:
o Certificate IV in Aircraft Maintenance
o Diploma of Aviation Maintenance Management
o Diploma in Engineering (Aeronautical, Avionics, Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics)
* Comprehensive knowledge of CASA regulations and standards relating to continuing airworthiness and aircraft maintenance
* Demonstrated capability to develop and maintain Continuing Airworthiness Expositions
* Proven experience in budget preparation and operational reporting
* Strong working knowledge of computer‐based maintenance management systems
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
* Demonstrated leadership experience
* Eligibility to hold an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
