Job Opportunity in Stroke Rehabilitation

This role is ideal for a skilled Occupational Therapy assistant with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, holding the necessary qualifications for this position.
As an Occupational Therapy Technical Instructor, you will manage a clinical and ward-based caseload in the stroke rehabilitation setting, take the lead on discharge planning, and conduct access visits in the community under the supervision of a qualified occupational therapist.
* Clinical Support and Patient Care:
o Assist therapists in delivering high-quality patient care, adhering to treatment plans devised by Occupational Therapists.
o Engage in patient treatment, providing support as needed, and ensuring therapy sessions are conducted effectively and safely.
o Demonstrate and issue daily living equipment as prescribed by an Occupational Therapist, ensuring patients understand its use and feel confident in utilizing the equipment.
o Assist in assessing patient progress and report findings to therapists to facilitate ongoing treatment planning.
* Administrative Duties:
o Manage therapist and personal diaries, stock management, and patient record keeping.
* Team Collaboration:
o Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team, participate in team meetings, and contribute to team discussions.
* Education and Training:
o Engage in professional development, attend team training sessions, and support and guide new team members.
* Quality Improvement:
o Contribute to continuous service development, identify areas for improvement, and stay up-to-date with current evidence-based practices.

Key Responsibilities
For this role, you will need:
* Quality Credit Framework qualification at level 3 (e.g., A-level, NVQ, or OCN related to Health & Social Care).
* Relevant experience working within a healthcare environment, delivering therapy programs.
* Understanding of the role of occupational therapy.
* Basic knowledge of main conditions relevant to the area of specialty and the effects of illness on function.
* Ability to meet travel requirements.
