The Opportunity
We are looking for a strategically minded and people focused Technical Manager to lead one of our Clusters in enabling research outcomes through effective technical support Possessing leadership skills and familiarity in providing support to both the field and laboratory work; you will be crucial in supporting your team leaders and coordinators ensuring a great workplace culture.
You will provide a key strategic leadership role in the support of research. To this end, having a strong understanding of operational and regulatory requirements including animal ethics, human ethics, quarantine, PC2 and TGA will be highly regarded. A continuous improvement mentality (ideally in Six Sigma or Kaizen) and the ability to promote the efforts of quiet achievers will also be well-received.
This is a full-time, ongoing position based at our Hawkesbury campus with travel to other campuses including Westmead as necessary.

About You
You will bring:
* Relevant postgraduate qualifications in science or related disciples and/or a combination of relevant experience
* A strong background in managing scientific facilities
* Knowledge of relevant regulatory and compliance requirements relevant to technical support of science, animal research or human behavioural work
* Demonstrated leadership skills in an operational capacity with clear understanding of strategic priorities
* A positive attitude and resilience towards customer service

Remuneration Package:
HEW Level 9 $159,739 to $170,588 p.a. (comprising Salary of $134,981 to $144,149 p.a., plus Superannuation and Leave Loading).
