We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Venue Manager to support the daily operations of our venue and help deliver outstanding hospitality across all areas of the business.

About the Role
Reporting to the Venue Manager, the Assistant Venue Manager will support the daily operations of the cellar door, restaurant, and events facilities. You will help lead the front-of-house team, maintain high service standards, and assist in delivering seamless guest experiences across all areas of the venue.
The role requires a hands-on approach, strong leadership capability, and excellent organisational skills.
In the absence of the Venue Manager, you will step into operational leadership of the venue.
Responsibilities
* Support the Venue Manager in overseeing cellar door operations, including wine tastings, retail sales, and guest service.
* Assist with the daily operations of the winery restaurant, including service standards, staff coordination, scheduling support, and stock control.
* Help coordinate and deliver events including weddings, corporate functions, and private celebrations.
* Supervise daily service periods to ensure exceptional guest experiences and efficient operations.
* Assist with inventory management, stock control, and cost management.
* Support relationships with suppliers, vendors, and contractors.
* Work with the Venue Manager and marketing team to support promotional initiatives and visitor experiences.
* Ensure compliance with food safety, liquor licensing, and workplace health and safety regulations.
* Assist with implementing venue policies, procedures, and service standards.
* Provide day-to-day leadership for restaurant and cellar door staff, supporting training, development, and a positive team culture.
* Step into venue leadership when the Venue Manager is absent.

You will bring:
* Previous experience in a supervisory or assistant management role within hospitality.
* Experience in a restaurant, winery, cellar door, or events venue.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
* A hands-on leadership style and the ability to support a team during busy service periods.
* Basic financial and operational understanding, including stock control and cost management.
* Knowledge of food safety, liquor licensing, and WHS requirements.
* A genuine passion for hospitality, wine, and guest experience.
