Whitfield State School is seeking an experienced and motivated Social Worker to join our dynamic student wellbeing team. The salary reflects the PO2 to PO3 classification range.The Social Worker at Whitfield State School will be responsible for the following functions:Case management coordination and leadership - Leading a comprehensive case management process for students with behavioural, emotional, social, learning, and attendance needs, in collaboration with the Deputy Principal and under their line management. This includes working with families, staff capability development, and building partnerships with other agencies.Education and school culture leadership - Facilitating programs for parents and staff, and contributing to the school's values-based culture to foster 'Resilient, Skilled Problem Solvers.'Support provision leadership - Designing, delivering, and reviewing student and family support services, including coaching staff involved in these provisions, especially related to social skills development.Provision of social work services - Applying social work frameworks, theories, assessment, and intervention techniques in practice.Data collection and review - Monitoring and improving social work services through data analysis.Understanding social and political impacts - Recognising how these influence practice and learning environments.Strategic alignment - Linking practice to Education Queensland's strategic plan and continuous improvement of policies and standards.Response to incidents - Supporting school communities during critical incidents and emergencies.Record keeping - Maintaining accurate, confidential, and compliant records per departmental policies.Governance and ethics - Ensuring social work practices align with AASW ethics and standards.Please refer to the attached role description for mandatory requirements.How To ApplyAttach a brief resume with contact details for two referees familiar with your work.Provide a one-page written statement responding to the role description.We encourage all applicants to share any support needed to ensure an inclusive recruitment process.
