The West Region Delivery Team (WRDT) was established with Sydney Water under a collaborative contracting framework - Partnering for Success (P4S). The West Region Delivery Team is delivering design, construction, maintenance, and facility management services under a 10-year programme across Sydney Water's wastewater, water and recycled water systems extending from Sydney's inner west suburbs out to the Blue Mountains, including the Sydney Growth Area and part of the North West Growth Centre.
The West Region Delivery Team consortium comprises Abergeldie Complex Infrastructure and Fulton Hogan for construction, maintenance, and facility management, and Stantec and Atlas for design and engineering.
About the Opportunity
We are recruiting a Community and Stakeholder Advisor to support the West Region Delivery Team (WRDT). This role spans detailed design, construction and maintenance, with responsibility for delivering practical, day-to-day engagement and communication activities. You will help project teams keep communities informed, manage impacts and maintain strong relationships throughout the project lifecycle. You will also provide administrative and reporting support to the WRDT Community and Stakeholder Lead while working across multiple WRDT offices, sites and local communities.
Key Responsibilities
* Supporting project teams with day-to-day stakeholder and community engagement and contributing to a positive WRDT culture.
* Developing and implementing Community and Stakeholder Engagement Plans, and preparing engagement materials such as notifications, posters, handouts and meeting packs.
* Managing community interactions, including property visits, door knocks, letterbox drops and stakeholder meetings, while resolving enquiries, issues and complaints with accurate logging and timely escalation.
* Supporting internal engagement activities, including inductions, Toolbox Talks and coordination of community events, information sessions and workshops.
* Completing site inspections and monitoring WRDT community engagement channels.
What You'll Bring to the Team
* A qualification in communications, community relations or a related discipline.
* 2 - 3 years of experience in community engagement (infrastructure, utilities or construction advantageous).
* An understanding of the Engagement Institute (formerly IAP2) engagement framework.
* Strong judgement, the ability to multitask and experience managing conflict resolution.
* Experience working within multi discipline delivery teams.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
* A current C Class driver licence and White Card.
