About Central Gippsland Health

Central Gippsland Health (CGH) is a sub-regional health service and the major provider of health and aged care services in the Wellington Shire.

CGH is located in the City of Sale which is 215 km east of Melbourne. The City of Sale is an ideal access point for the magnificent Gippsland Lakes, 90 Mile Beach and the Victorian Alps.

CGH provides acute care as part of an integrated service delivery model across Wellington Shire and beyond. The service provides beds across three campuses (Sale, Maffra and Heyfield).

Acute services include a full-time emergency department, critical care unit, neonatal critical care unit, three operating theatres, day procedure unit, oncology and dialysis services in addition to general medical and services and sub-acute services including rehabilitation.

CGH also provides aged care and community services in the Wellington Shire and beyond.

We operate four residential aged care homes located in Sale, Maffra, and Heyfield delivering high-quality, person-centred care in supportive and homelike environments.

CGH provides a wide range of community-based services that support people to remain healthy, active, and independent in their own homes. This includes the provision of Support at Home, Commonwealth Home Support Programs, and other in-home services tailored to individual needs.

Our integrated model of care is supported by a multidisciplinary allied health team offering physiotherapy, dietetics, occupational therapy, speech pathology, and social work. We also provide accessible public dental services to enhance community wellbeing.

CGH is also a leading teaching hospital, affiliated with Monash University's School of Rural Health and provides placements and clinical experience for students.

About Department

We are looking to fill 3 Allied Health Assistant roles at Central Gippsland Health in Sale.

* Full time AHA commencing in the Physiotherapy Department – from January 2026
* 1 day per week AHA within the Physiotherapy Department – Available now
* Weekend Casual AHA staff to work as part of a roster for 3hrs on a Saturday alongside the Physiotherapist for Orthopaedic Clients (suited to current Physio University Students) – Available now

As an AHA employee of CGH you will be trained to work across departments in an integrated and supportive team. The Allied Health department is made up of approximately 60 professionals across Physiotherapy and Exercise Physiology, Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Social Health, Dietetics and Podiatry along with programs including Restorative Care Pathway and Rehabilitation in the Home (RITH).

About the Role

The Allied Health Assistant will work in an interdisciplinary manner to support the clinicians in providing client centred care to enable our clients to meet their outcomes. The Allied Health Assistant may be required to work across multiple sites and areas covering acute, community and aged care support.

Duties

Physiotherapy:

The AHA in physiotherapy works in a rotational manner across acute, community, home based therapy and residential aged care. The role of the AHA is to support the Physiotherapists and Exercise Physiologists in the delivery of exercises as well as with administration support. You will be part of a team of 8 AHA staff (5.9 EFT total).

Weekend casual AHA's are required to work 3 hours on a Saturday to support the Physiotherapist on duty with treating the Orthopaedic Clients on the ward.

About You

* Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance from a registered training organisation or its equivalent
* Current Police Check
* Current Working with Children Check
* Current NDIS Worker Check
