We are seeking a seasoned tax professional to join our team. As a key member, you will play a pivotal role in assisting organisations and individuals in preparing for, managing and resolving tax disputes, while maintaining effective working relationships with revenue authorities.
Our team is comprised of highly skilled and experienced specialists who have extensive knowledge in tax dispute resolution and controversy. We are looking for an individual with experience in tax law and tax disputes, preferably in an advisory firm, Big 4, traditional law firms or Government.
As a leader, you will be responsible for collaborating with clients to develop their written and oral advocacy skills and provide legal advice on taxation law and administrative law.
This opportunity is open to applicants interested in a full or part-time role – with true flexibility provided through our market-leading leave and flexible/hybrid working models.
Key Responsibilities:
* Working with clients in preparing for and resolving their risk reviews, audits and disputes with the ATO, AusIndustry and State/ Territory revenue authorities, including working on complex ATO audits, preparing objections, briefing counsel and advising clients on ATO Risk Reviews, Audits, Independent Reviews, tax litigation.
* Collaborating with a range of clients and specialists across our organisation to develop your written and oral advocacy skills and provide legal advice (including taxation law and administrative law).
* Participating in national engagements, allowing all team members to work across all jurisdictions with partners and team members from other states.
* Collaboration with many other specialist groups across our Deals, Tax & Legal practice in Australia, as well as internationally (many clients are multinationals) is also a feature of many of our engagements.

Essential qualifications include previous experience in corporate tax, international tax, tax law and/or tax dispute resolution and controversy in either a Big 4 professional services firm, a law firm or the Australian Taxation Office, with prior Big 4 experience viewed favourably.

* Ability to develop strong client relations and be proactive in deepening those relationships.

* Australian and/or other Commonwealth country legal experience
