Job Title: Facilities Maintenance
The successful applicant will be responsible for the maintenance of school buildings and grounds, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for students and staff.
Responsibilities:
* Maintaining and improving the overall aesthetic appeal of the school grounds, facilities, and buildings.
* Carrying out regular routine inspections to identify any issues requiring maintenance.
* Undertaking routine repairs, cleaning, and maintenance tasks to ensure facilities are in good working order.
* Collaborating with contractors to address tasks that require specialized skills and ensuring compliance with OHS requirements.
* Participating in small building projects and painting tasks as required.
* Repairing and maintaining furniture to ensure it remains in good condition.
* Liaising regularly with the Facilities Manager to discuss ongoing maintenance needs and requirements.
* Providing assistance to staff members when relocating furniture and equipment.
* Ensuring all tools and equipment are in good working order and reporting any faults to the Facilities Manager.
* Maintaining a clean and organized maintenance shed in accordance with OH&S principles.
* Performing carpentry, plumbing, and brickwork repairs within skill capacity.
* Working collaboratively with the management team to ensure occupational health and safety requirements are met.
* Complying with DET OHS Guidelines and participating in consultative processes.
* Observing safe work practices in accordance with school policy, training, and instructions.
* Identifying, reporting, and where necessary, taking action on risks and hazards to prevent recurrence.
* Promoting and implementing occupational health and safety and risk mitigation processes within the school community.
