Mechanical Engineer – DEM & Bulk Materials Handling
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer with strong Discrete Element Method (DEM) capability and a solid background in the design and engineering of bulk materials handling systems, mineral processing plants, and associated mine infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and engineer bulk materials handling equipment and systems for mining and resources projects.
* Undertake DEM modelling and analysis to support the design and optimisation of transfer chutes, bins, hoppers, and conveyor loading points.
* Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, including designers and other technical specialists, to deliver integrated project outcomes.
* Contribute to technical documentation, design reviews, and project delivery across various stages of project development.
Key Requirements
* Proven experience in the design and engineering of bulk materials handling equipment and systems within mining and resource environments.
* Strong DEM modelling experience, particularly related to transfer chutes, bins, and conveyor loading points.
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams, including coordination with designers.
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
* 6+ years' relevant experience within the mining and resources industry.
* Experience on mineral processing plants and mine infrastructure projects.
* Strong problem‐solving skills with a practical, solutions‐focused mindset.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
