About the Role
The EQ Hotel is seeking an experienced Executive Housekeeper to join our founding leadership team ahead of opening. This is a rare opportunity to shape housekeeping operations from the ground up within a new luxury hotel and mixed-use precinct in the heart of Elizabeth Quay.
Reporting to the Rooms Division Manager, you will lead all aspects of housekeeping operations across guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces, ensuring exceptional standards of cleanliness, presentation, efficiency, and guest experience from day one.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Opening & Operational Readiness
* Establish housekeeping systems, SOPs, service standards, and workflows ahead of opening
* Recruit, onboard, and train the housekeeping team
* Coordinate procurement of linen, equipment, and supplies, including inventory controls
* Conduct inspections and readiness audits prior to opening
Operations & Quality
* Lead daily housekeeping operations in line with brand, safety, and service standards
* Drive productivity, efficiency, and continuous improvement
* Oversee guest laundry, lost property, deep cleaning programs, and equipment maintenance
* Investigate and resolve guest feedback in collaboration with Front Office
Financial & Commercial
* Assist with departmental budgeting and cost control
* Manage supplier relationships and housekeeping-related CAPEX
* Track performance against financial and operational targets
People & Culture
* Lead, coach, and develop a diverse housekeeping team
* Manage rostering, performance reviews, and training compliance
* Promote inclusion, engagement, and a positive workplace culture
Health, Safety & Compliance
* Ensure compliance with WHS legislation and company policies
* Maintain safe systems of work, manual handling practices, and emergency readiness
About You
* 5–8 years' experience in luxury hotel housekeeping, including leadership responsibility
* Strong operational, financial, and people management capability
* Experience in pre-opening or change environments highly regarded
* Proficient in Opera PMS and Microsoft 365
* Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills
* Flexible, hands-on, and values-driven leadership style
