Children's Support Specialist
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate specialist to join our team, working with children, young people, and families in the Lower Mid-North Coast region. As a vital member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide targeted support and evidence-based interventions to enhance wellbeing and create positive change in the community.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver tailored therapeutic support to children, young people, and their families across various settings, including Community Health centres, schools, homes, and community spaces.
* Collaborate closely with internal and external partners to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.
* Play a key role in identifying and responding to child wellbeing and protection concerns, aligning with legislative and policy requirements.
* Contribute to service planning and quality improvement initiatives, maintaining accurate clinical records, and engaging in ongoing professional development to ensure current and effective practice.
Requirements:
* A bachelor's degree in social work or a related field, providing eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
* Demonstrated skills in assessment, intervention, and outcome evaluation, along with a clear understanding of the legal and policy frameworks governing child protection in NSW.
* A commitment to inclusive, evidence-based practice and a passion for making a real impact in the lives of families.

About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join our dedicated Counselling Team within the Children, Young People and Families Service, based at Forster Community Health. You will have the opportunity to work across the beautiful Lower Mid-North Coast region, delivering vital support to children, young people, and their families. As part of a passionate and collaborative multi-disciplinary team, you will play a key role in improving wellbeing and creating positive change in the community.
In this temporary role, you will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, collaborating closely with internal and external partners to ensure coordinated, high-quality care. You will join a supportive Counselling team and the broader Paediatric Allied Health Team within the Children, Young People and Families Service. From day one, you will receive a thorough orientation and ongoing training to help you succeed in the role.
