Urban Planning Trainee Opportunity
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team as a trainee urban planner. This is a fantastic opportunity to begin your career in local government and gain hands-on experience in statutory planning, development systems, and customer service.
In this role, you will provide planning and development advice through our pre-lodgement services, assist with assessing development proposals and related applications, support customers via counter, phone, and email interactions, and ensure applications meet legislative requirements.
You will also prepare reports, memorandums, and correspondence on development matters, undertake site inspections and coordinate feedback from internal and external stakeholders, and meet Council deadlines and statutory timeframes.
To be successful in this role, you will require enrolment in a tertiary course leading to a qualification in town planning or a related discipline, strong interest in development assessment and statutory planning, good communication and interpersonal skills, basic understanding of relevant planning legislation and regulations, commitment to continuous learning and a proactive work ethic, and a Class C Driver's Licence.
