Based at our SW office in Bunbury, Western Australia, the successful candidate will become an integral part of our dynamic team. The Environmental Superintendent plays a critical leadership role in supporting MGM's operations within both the transport and the mining sector in compliance with environmental regulations, sustainability standards, and corporate responsibility goals. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing environmental management systems that mitigate the impact of heavy vehicle movements, bulk material handling, and site activities on surrounding ecosystems. The role involves close collaboration with operational teams, regulatory bodies, and community stakeholders to monitor environmental performance, manage risks, and drive continuous improvement in areas such as nut not limited to; carbon emissions, heritage protection, workplace hygiene, dust suppression, waste management, water usage, and land rehabilitation. By integrating environmental considerations into strategic planning and daily operations, the Environmental Superintendent supports the company's commitment to sustainable transport operations, mining logistics, regulatory compliance, and long-term environmental stewardship.

The successful applicant will be required to:

* Manage environmental compliance, including but not limited to carbon emissions, hygiene, waster & water management, noise, and dust monitoring.
* Foster a proactive regulatory relationship and ensure compliance with local and federal legislation.
* Lead change management initiatives to improve environmental data systems and streamline processes.
* Enhance in-house capabilities for monitoring and investigations, reducing reliance on external consultants.
* Implementing of Environmental Management Systems and proactive approach towards leading environmental practices.
* Planning and coordinating environmental projects together with management.
* Engaging and communicating with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
* Executing environmental management activities as regulated by relevant environmental legislation.
* Assisting the HSEC team to deliver targets and objectives.
* Responsible for the timely preparation of field and regulatory reports.
* Responsible for the organization, the establishment, and maintenance of the onsite office to project a professional image (housekeeping, organised, clean, signage)
* Manage, oversee, provide training, and act as a mentor.
* Continuing education in areas including WHSE, means and methods, codes, management skills, new technologies.
* Responsible for completing items in a time frame consistent organisational requirements.
* Supervise and coordinate environmental related activities, i.e. undertake measuring, monitoring and recording of specific environmental elements.
* Perform supervisory and management functions reporting to the GM - HSEC.

To be successful for this position you will need to demonstrate:

* Proven experience in environmental management within the transport, mining or resources sector.
* Strong leadership and change management skills to inspire and guide teams.
* Familiarity with environmental compliance and regulatory frameworks, particularly in community-proximate operations.
* Technological aptitude with a drive for innovation and efficiency in environmental systems.
* Understanding of emission and sustainable management practices.
