Selection Criteria

* Demonstrated capacity to build, manage and lead a highly effective multidisciplinary team to support student wellbeing
* Proven ability to apply an evidence and data driven approach to promoting and delivering preventative and intervention programs that improve student attendance, wellbeing and engagement
* Demonstrated capacity to effectively oversee and manage critical wellbeing incidents, and a proven ability to manage particularly complex cases that may require cross-profession or agency collaboration
* Implement the DE Tiered approach to wellbeing, including delivering professional learning that informs and enhances the practice of others in supporting engagement and wellbeing.
* Proven knowledge of, and adherence to, DE policies and guidelines regarding student health, engagement and wellbeing and the ability to lead the development of policies and processes
* Highly developed communication, interpersonal and networking skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with students, families, staff and external agencies
Role
Will be a member of the leadership team who is accountable for the development and delivery of key services that are integral to the effective operation of a school/s. Provides a range of services and/or undertakes the analysis of complex problems that form part of the policy framework.
A school or group of schools would need to have the necessary diversity and complexity to create a role at range 5. Management of a major school or district initiative, project or Department targeted strategy would be an indicator depending on the breadth of management responsibilities.
An education support class position supports the educational services being provided to students, but must not include duties of teaching as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic) or its successor. Supervision of students cannot be required except where it is an integral part of the employee's position or involves supervision of students individually or in small groups, in controlled circumstances, where the responsibility for students remains clearly with a teacher.
Responsibilities
* As a member of the Mount Rowan Secondary College Leadership team, establish a clear vision and plan for continuous improvement for wellbeing across Mount Rowan Secondary College, including using wellbeing and school data to identify priorities, set targets and evaluate the impact of interventions in line with the school's strategic plan.
* Use data to track attendance rates for students with below 70% attendance and support students and families with reengement
* Lead and manage the Wellbeing Team, fostering a safe and collaborative culture, guiding professional learning, and building staff capability to support student wellbeing.
* Oversee the referral process by triaging, allocating and monitoring cases, ensuring timely and effective support for students.
* Provide recommendations and supporting evidence for Disability Inclusion Profiles and liaise with others to ensure all DE requirements for at-risk, Out of Home Car (OOHC) and Koorie students are met (eg. IEPs, SSGs)
* Plan and implement evidence-based prevention, early intervention and targeted strategies for students with complex needs, collaborating with families, staff and external professionals to effectively manage risk.
* Lead the schools wellbeing response to critical incidents, including the development and delivery of response programs (e.g. stress management, grief and loss)
* Ensure wellbeing practices and interventions comply with DE polices, Child Safe Standards and legislative requirements relating to privacy, consent, inclusion and student health information.
* Maintain accurate and professional record-keeping systems in line with DE policy and legal requirements.
* Manage the wellbeing budget, and forward planning to ensure sustainability of programs and initiatives.
* Other duties as directed by the Principal
* Lead the Wellbeing Team in working with families who need extra support to attend and engage in all aspects of school life at Mount Rowan Secondary College.

Qualification needed: Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent.
Experience in an educational setting will be advantageous.
