EL1 Risk Manager. Opportunity in Federal Government. Support Government Change Agenda.
**Your new company**
This Government Department is working at the forefront of delivering a high level of policies and programs to the public contributing to their health and well-being. Currently, they have a need for a high performing EL1 Risk Manager to proactively drive change, assist in setting the agenda, and lead a team to increase departmental capability in risk management.
**Your new role**
The Branch provides professional business and integrity assurance services and is responsible for shaping departmental corporate and business planning approaches. It also supports the department by developing and enhancing its risk management framework, providing comprehensive business continuity support, delivering value-add internal audit services, providing strong fraud and corruption control, through their liaison with other governmental agencies. This role will play a pivotal role in leading a team to increase departmental capability in risk management, including adoption of the department's Risk Management Policy and Framework and supporting resources such as intranet content, process documentation and tools. This position will see you building and maintaining productive working relationships with the business areas within the department to coordinate the various project or program management activities. Here you will support areas to develop project improvement plans or program assurance plans to assist in improving project or program results/outcomes.
**What you'll need to succeed**
To succeed in this role, you will be a high-performing individual with knowledge and experience in enterprise Risk Management. You will be an individual who is willing to be proactive in driving change, have exceptional communication skills and the ability to influence outcomes. As well as this, you will have experience in:
- Risk management and experience in oversight of program delivery in a government department.
- Executive level analytical and conceptual skills, including the ability to analyse information and develop insightful solutions, actively identify and manage issues, and understand departmental and customer requirements to formulate and implement operational plans.
- Highly adept at effectively engaging and collaborating with peers and stakeholders, particularly at the senior executive level.
- Excellent judgement with the ability to take responsibility for decisions, manage escalated matters and manage a varied workload within given time frames.
- Ability to foster a collaborative and productive working environment both within the immediate team and across the Branch.
- Experience in successfully managing and leading people and teams.
