Charters Towers Kids Early Learning Centre is a Reggio Emilia inspired early learning centre. This beautiful centre is licensed for 83 places a day across five beautiful studios. Catering for children aged six weeks to five years our facilities and philosophy are unrivalled in the Early Childhood Education industry. We are currently seeking a friendly, qualified and passionate Cook/Chef who is highly motivated and enjoys cooking nutritious and wholesome meals for large groups of children.
The successful applicant will possess qualities that will ensure a high level of service for the children each day. Punctuality, consistency, passion for cooking, good communication skills, creativity and enthusiasm are a must.
We are participating in the Worker Retention Payment Grant If successful you will receive an additional payment on top of your above award pay rate
Position Responsibilities
* Plan, prepare and deliver meals and menus (including food for children with special dietary requirements and allergies)
* Manage ordering and budgeting
* Work in accordance with food safety regulations for safe and hygienic handling, storage and preparation of food and drinks
Essential Selection Criteria
* Certificate III in Hospitality - Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)
* Strong knowledge of wholesome and nutritious food suitable for children under 12 years (including infants)
* Working with Children Blue Card
Desirable Criteria
* Certificate III in Children's Services (or equivalent)
* Current First Aid / CPR Certificate
* Excellent record keeping and organisational skills
* Experience with within a recognised and accredited Child Care Facility or similar environment will be highly valued
