Plascorp is one of Australia's leading privately-owned Manufacturing and Distribution companies specialising in Industrial Ducting, Mine Ventilation, PVC Pipe and Steel re-enforcing solutions is looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to join our Altona North manufacturing facility.
We are seeking a skilled hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to play a vital role in overseeing the reliability and efficiency of our plant assets.
The ideal candidate will have a strong emphasis on proactive maintenance strategies, effective planning and scheduling, timely response to breakdowns, and ensuring a safe, compliant, and high-performing work environment preferably in the PVC/Plastics environment or similar
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
* Experience in supervising a maintenance team in plastics extrusion or another plastics manufacturing environment is strongly preferred
* Minimum 3-5 years of maintenance supervision experience is required
* Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in maintenance operations across building services, compressors, chillers, HVAC and pumps
* Strong understanding of maintenance management systems and processes.
* Ability to analyse problems and develop practical solutions.
* Experienced in maintenance planning and scheduling including external contractors such as HVAC, electrical and specialist technicians
* Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement frameworks such as 5S
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to prioritise and schedule maintenance activities in alignment with production demands, ensuring minimal disruption to manufacturing operations.
* Manage and oversee work orders using CMMS, ensuring high-quality documentation and accurate history logging of maintenance activities.
* Forecast and procure necessary spares, consumables, and equipment ahead of scheduled maintenance tasks, ensuring all materials are readily available to facilitate smooth operations.
* Assess contractor requirements accurately and work closely with teams to efficiently allocate resources.
* Execute preventative maintenance, conducting repairs and refurbishments, and actively participating in ongoing inspections of plant equipment.
* Ensure the availability, reliability, and capability of plant assets through systematic monitoring and effective maintenance strategies.
* Develop and implement strategies to minimise downtime on out-of-order equipment, facilitating prompt recovery and increased operational efficiency.
* Monitor, follow up, and proactively address any issues associated with the implementation and progress of both planned and unplanned maintenance tasks, ensuring continuous improvement in maintenance practices.
