About the Role
The Administrative Officer plays a vital role in supporting the mission and daily operations of the parish. This is more than an administrative position—it is a ministry of service that calls for professionalism, discretion, and a deep respect for the faith and values we uphold.
* Provide secretarial and administrative support to the Parish Priest and the broader Parish community.
* Manage volunteer rosters and databases, including compliance records (e.g., WWC, Code of Conduct).
* Assist in preparing the weekly parish bulletin and coordinate communication channels.
* Support recordkeeping for baptisms, funerals, sacraments, and memorials.
* Maintain parish registers, digital files, and archives with diligence and confidentiality.
* Oversee key and property register management and liaise with our parish school on shared facilities.
* Ensure compliance with the Melbourne Catholic Archdiocese and Parish commitment to best practice, in the care and safety of children and vulnerable adults
What We're Looking For
* A motivated and values-driven individual with a heart for Church mission.
* Experience in office administration and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a welcoming and compassionate manner.
* A collaborative spirit with the ability to work harmoniously with staff and volunteers.
* A strong sense of initiative, attention to detail, and the ability to manage priorities with minimal supervision.
* An understanding of liturgy, sacraments, and parish life is highly desirable.
Additional Requirements
* A current Police Check (within the last 3 months).
* A valid Working with Children Check (Victoria).
* A current Driver's Licence.
