About the role:
We're seeking a Manager Civil Infrastructure to provide strategic leadership to the City's Construction and Maintenance teams. Working closely with the Manager Engineering and Facilities to ensure compliance with design, engineering and safety standards across all projects, and reporting to the Director Infrastructure and Environment, this role:
* Oversees the delivery of capital work projects as well as maintenance activities on the City's existing civil infrastructure.
* Manages procurement processes for civil works including contractors, consultants and material supplies.
* Leads business systems and process improvements.
* Takes a lead role in internal and external stakeholder engagement.
* Ensures compliance with relevant statutory obligations, City policies and corporate frameworks.
What you'll bring to the role:
You will align with our values and ideally have the following competencies:
* Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
* Extensive experience (5+ years) in civil infrastructure construction and maintenance at a management level, ideally but not necessarily within local government.
* Proven ability to provide strategic oversight of projects, contracts and procurement.
* Extensive experience in financial governance, reporting, and budget management.
* Demonstrated ability to implement operational efficiencies.
* Confident communication and negotiation skills with stakeholders at all levels.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capability.
The successful applicant will also be required to provide a National Police Clearance no more than six months old.
